​Hi everyone,

It’s Lisa Jardine calling from Leatherbarrow Primary with a special Monday talk mail. I usually wait until Tuesday, but I wanted to remind you that tomorrow is Picture Day! Lifetouch will be coming to take school photos. Lifetouch has said that it is best NOT to wear Green in school photos as sometimes people end up looking life floating heads! Proofs will be sent home as soon as we receive them. There is no obligation to order school photos.
Last week was the official ASD-South Kindergarten registration week. However, as it was only a 3-day week for students, we are registering children this week as well. If you have a child, or know a child, who should be entering kindergarten next Fall, please ensure that they get registered for kindergarten.
 It is National Take Me Outside Week, and Wednesday is National Take Me Outside Day. We are always committed to outdoor education, and we will be doing as many lessons as possible outside on Wednesday.  Please ensure children are dressed appropriately for the weather. Outdoor educators continue to remind us that there is really no poor weather, only poor clothing choices!
As we continue our focus of Be Safe, kindergarten students will be going to the Fire Station on Wednesday. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend. 
Our Home and School Committee will be meeting Wednesday evening at 5:30pm.
On Thursday, we will be having a Fire Evacuation practice. During a fire evacuation practice, we follow our regular fire drill procedures, and then we take it one step further by walking to our first evacuation site, Hampton Elementary School’s gym. 
And finally, a reminder that school clothing orders are due the end of the month.
